A powerful new Tamil film is releasing on October 2nd 2026 across the United Kingdom and Europe.

RFT Films is pleased to announce the upcoming UK and European theatrical release of Porattam, an ambitious Tamil-language film created with a strong focus on Eelam Tamil talent.

Directed by Raj Sivaraj, Porattam features Reegan Kandiah in his acting debut alongside Nivedhikah in a prominent role. The film brings together a passionate creative team to tell a story rooted in struggle, determination and the pursuit of dreams.
A Story of Dreams, Struggle & Determination

Set against the backdrop of Eelam, Porattam follows the journey of a football player and the challenges he faces while pursuing his ambitions.

The film explores themes of determination, perseverance, relationships and the struggles that stand between an individual and his dreams.

With football at the heart of the narrative, Porattam combines emotion, drama and human struggle to create an engaging cinematic experience.

Introducing Reegan Kandiah

Porattam marks the acting debut of Reegan Kandiah, who takes on the lead role.

The film’s first-look material introduced Reegan as a football player, creating anticipation around both his character and his debut performance.

Alongside Reegan, Nivedhikah plays a key role in the film, supported by a talented ensemble of Eelam Tamil artists.

Porattam is written and directed by Raj Sivaraj, bringing a new cinematic voice to the growing Eelam Tamil film industry.

The film is produced by Baskaran Kandiah under the banner of IBC Tamil Productions.

The music is composed by Poovan Matheesan, with the film featuring a six-song album involving musicians and singers from both Sri Lanka and South India.

The film has received a U certificate
