Padakkalam is a supernatural campus thriller set in Shri Kartika Thirunal College of Engineering, following four engineering students—Jithin, Ramsad, Nakul, and Kannan. A college strike over the Head of Department appointment unexpectedly pulls them into a dangerous power struggle between two professors.
When Prof. Renjith, a charismatic faculty member, secretly uses an ancient artifact to control people and secure the HoD position, events spiral out of control. Jithin accidentally discovers the truth, and the group attempts to stop Renjith by stealing the artifact. However, Renjith strikes back by possessing Jithin, destroying his personal and academic life.
As the students race to break the possession, a failed attempt leads to a chaotic three-way body swap between Jithin, Prof. Shaji, and Renjith. What follows is a tense psychological battle filled with emotional revelations, manipulation, and sacrifice. Relationships are tested, loyalties shift, and the cost of power becomes painfully clear.
In a climactic showdown, the game controlling the artifact is finally completed, restoring everyone to their bodies and ending Renjith’s reign—though not without consequences. The artifact is destroyed, life slowly returns to normal, and the students walk away forever changed. But in a chilling final twist, Renjith mysteriously disappears from the hospital, leaving the story open-ended.
